About me

Olivier Lafont is a Paris-based actor, author, and screenplay writer. He is French, lived and worked in India for 30 years, and had an American international education, graduating from Colgate University, USA with BAs in Theatre and English Literature and academic distinction.

 

Natively bilingual in English and French, speaking fluent Hindi and basic Spanish, he has acted in several Bollywood and Hollywood films, over 100 television commercials and advertising campaigns, and more than 100 voice overs and dubs. 

 

He is the author of five novels and one novelette, mainly fantasy for both young and older readers, published by Penguin Random House and Hachette and nominated for literary prizes.

 

The first feature film he wrote premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and went on to win seven awards at international film festivals. He has sold several other feature film screenplays and written for comedy shows.

 

Lafont has also done French-English translation for feature film screenplays like Pascal Chaumeil's Heartbreaker (L'Arnacœur) and Michel Ocelot's Azur and Asmar (Azur et Asmar) and dubbing scripts, animated content, and many other media.
